Mayen Estate

Nestled in the hidden secret of the Deveron Valley in North East Scotland, Mayen is positioned amidst wonderful mature policies of established low and highland woodlands, and farmland.

Mayen Woods, on the hillside to the West of Mayen House, rise from the river to 65 metres above sea level at Spur Wood and to 285 meters above sea level at Gallow Hill.

The landscape was awarded the Alistair J Lilburn of Coull trophy for Scotland’s Finest

Woodlands; presented by the Royal Highland and Agricultural Society. The woodland integrates seamlessly with the surrounding farmland, including individual parkland trees, riparian woodland and hedges which combine to provide a landscape pattern and a framework for habitats.

Game Bird Days

The Mayen topography is known for its stratospheric bird opportunities. Delivering high birds from the elevated landscapes, and scenery.

In our fifth year of pheasant and partridge shooting at Mayen, we are delighted to welcome Mr Terry Lindsay as head Gamekeeper. This year we are also pleased to add ducks to our shoot on 3 different flight ponds. Guns can expect fantastic shooting including drives across the river, both challenging and sporting for the guns and retrieval dogs.

Your day includes up to 6 drives selected by the keeper from 16 opportunities.

Bird numbers are expected to be in the region of 200 birds on the day.

You will experience a very memorable day with exceptional catering and warm hospitality, including breakfast rolls, elevenses, full lunch or dinner and the finest, locally sourced refreshments.
