your own gardens like Mayen
Bethany Evans’ passion for designing gardens is rooted in her own love of digging up the soil and creating living landscapes. With a Masters of European Design from Glasgow School of Art, Bethany’s approach to gardens is rooted not just in the visual, but the wholistic and very human experience of living with plants throughout the seasons.
From a visit to Mayen, you will see that Bethany has put so much of herself and her own style into the gardens there. The walled gardens at Mayen are laid out with many individual ornamental garden rooms, affording endless opportunities to experiment with combinations of plants in themed settings.
With an artist’s eye for color and texture, coupled with her focus on designing for the human experience, Bethany’s designs evoke feelings and movements- like running through a field of barley.
Bethany designs for living. Her designs universally include both the edible and ornamental.
With years of experience in gardening and managing a team of gardeners, she has an acute awareness of the investment required in maintaining gardens of different scopes.
While, in gardening in the North East of Scotland, Bethany and her team is well versed in planting within the limits of hardiness.
Bethany also has a penchant for interior design, and loves designing living spaces that connect the outdoors to the indoors.
A professionally trained and experienced designer, Bethany collaborates with her clients to create a shared essence and feeling, which is brought to a tangible and very physical manifestation through the production of detailed plans.
Services can be offered to consult on existing plantings, through to the complete design and realisation of new projects.
