A romantic retreat

Whatever the occasion this romantic Scottish retreat will allow you to escape from it all, to enjoy one another’s company in stunning surroundings. Built in 1788, Gate Lodge is a beautifully historic pink limestone cottage in the woods of Mayen Estate and has been fully renovated with a calm and relaxing atmosphere in the heart of the stunning Deveron Valley.

  • Check-in is between 4pm and 6pm. We don’t offer check-in on Thursdays or Sundays. 

    Check-out is before 10am, we offer late check-out on Sundays only.

  • Make sure to read our Terms & Conditions before booking.

    We require a non-refundable 50% deposit to secure your booking, with the remainder due 14 days in advance of your holiday.

Steeped in history, the unique, listed building has been completely reimagined and transformed into an exclusive romantic hideaway, complete with a luxurious roll top bath in the bedroom, cosy open plan kitchen and living space and sun-kissed patio area. Gate Lodge is complete with beautiful antique furniture, a wood burning stove and a comfortable king-sized bed decked in luxurious British made cotton linen.

Cosy up by the fire inside with your favourite book, cook up your favourites on the kitchen range cooker, sizzle up a feast on the Kamado Barbeque or whip up a pizza on the Ooni pizza oven.

Gate Lodge has been lovingly restored with traditional Georgian features, antique furniture and inserts and features an open-plan kitchen and living room, sumptuous bathroom and kings sized bed.

  • "The guardhouse has everything you need and is in itself a nice place to be, but if the weather is good you have a well equipped outdoor kitchen in the garden with a hot tub, bbq, pizza oven and a sun lounger that overlooks the garden. Its even better than it looks in the photos and exceeded our expectations. Although the area has a lot to see, you could easily spend all day here just exploring the grounds of the estate and the impressive walled garden."
